In a truncated day of data, Canadian Housing Starts and Building Permits are first up in the afternoon. Next in what could be a very important day of Fed speak, is the Chair himself, Jerome Powell. USD markets will be extremely attuned to the tone of Powell’s comments. Job openings is the last fundamental data before a slew of FOMC speakers (Bullard, Bostic, Quarles). API Crude Oil stock rounds out the US session, before the RBNZ’s Governor Orr speaks later in the evening.
