Usd to php today villarica: Chile’s lakeside lair: The glamorous hotel where James Bond wouldn’t be out of place

By the early Fifties the Hotel Antumalal, built into the steep hillside forming the shore of the lake, was open for business. The main bedrooms – and there are only 16 of them – extend above a cliff, all wood-panelled and with an entire wall of glass overlooking the lake and mountains. The furniture, updated but retaining the unique Fifties style, blends native wood, iron and rope. Lamp standards are made from small knotted tree trunks. Chairs are intriguingly fashioned in wood and rope, and their comfort belies their appearance.
